Occupational & Hand Therapy

Occupational Therapists are health care professional who assist people both young and old in regaining the ability to perform meaningful activities, or occupations, in their lives. Hand therapists are occupational or physical therapists that focus on rehabilitation of the upper extremity including the hand, wrist, elbow & shoulder. A hand therapist uses specialized knowledge to evaluate, develop and carryout treatment plans. Adjustments are made to these plans according to patient’s needs in order to maximize their function and ability to participate fully in daily activities.The benefit of working with a certified hand therapist is assurance the therapist has achieved the highest level of competency in the profession. They have advanced knowledge of surgical techniques and post op rehabilitation making certain the highest level of care is provided.
